The homeowner in New Lowell was dealing with foundation cracks, water infiltration and a damp, unhealthy crawl space. Moisture was spreading, insulation was failing and the floors above were starting to sag. The space was cold, musty and contributing to poor air quality in the home.
After our repairs, the crawl space was fully transformed. We installed the CleanSpace encapsulation system with drainage matting and a vapor barrier, added a SaniDry Sedona for humidity control and insulated the space with SilverGlo panels. A SuperSump system now manages groundwater, SmartJack support posts stabilize the floors above and MoldX2 was applied to treat affected surfaces. The customer now has a dry, stable and healthy crawl space that protects the entire home.
Before, the crawl space in this Palgrave home was consistently damp and prone to water infiltration. Moisture was entering through the ground and vents, creating concerns about mold, air quality, and long-term structural damage. The space lacked proper drainage and insulation, leaving it cold, humid, and vulnerable to seasonal freeze-thaw cycles.
After our team completed the work, the crawl space was transformed into a dry, clean, and protected environment. The SmartSump® system, paired with StarPipe™ and a LawnScape™ outlet, now manages water effectively, while IceGuard® ensures reliable performance even in winter. The CleanSpace® liner and CleanSpace® Vent Covers sealed out moisture and outside air, and SilverGlo™ insulation enhanced energy efficiency. The homeowner now has a healthier, more efficient home with long-term protection against water and humidity.
Mrs. Houle, located in Brampton, Ontario, was having humidity issues in her dirt crawl space and she needed a replacement for her old sump pump. Like most people, she went searching the internet for someone that could help her out. In this search, she came across our website and contacted us through our webchat. We quickly scheduled a specialist to come by for a free quote & inspection. Our skilled specialist George travelled to Mrs. Houle’s home and inspected the dirt crawl space. He determined that the best plan would be to fully encapsulate the crawl space using CleanSpace crawl space vapor barrier and drainage matting, as well as other products like SilverGlo insulation, a SmartSump crawl space sump pump system, an IceGuard® sump pump discharge system, and EZ-Flow piping system. Mrs. Houle accepted George’s proposition and we scheduled a date for the installation.
Our foreman Colin and his team arrived at the home to complete the installation. First, they dug a small trench in the ground and inside they laid the EZ-Flow piping system. Next, they dug a pit to install the SmartSump crawl space sump pump system. On the walls, they added SilverGlo insulation to keep the home warm. Then, they laid the CleanSpace drainage matting over the entirety of the dirt crawl space floor. On top, they added a layer of CleanSpace crawl space vapor barrier, ensuring there would be no moisture seeping through from the dirt crawl space floor. Finally, they added an IceGuard® sump pump discharge line system on the outside of the home, ensuring that the discharge line would not freeze, and water could safely exit, no matter the weather. Thanks to our hardworking team at Basement Systems Toronto, our client Mrs. Houle can finally enjoy her home without worrying about her humid crawl space.
