Waterproofing a basement in Queensville, ON
Challenge
A homeowner in Queensville, ON was experiencing active water intrusion in their partially finished basement. Water was seeping in from a corner and visibly rising through the floor, creating ongoing dampness and putting the foundation and finished living space at risk.
The moisture issue was severe enough to limit the use of the basement, which the homeowner intended to convert into a recreational area. Beyond inconvenience, the persistent water intrusion raised concerns about long-term structural damage, potential mold growth, and deterioration of building materials.
A full inspection revealed that groundwater was entering through the foundation perimeter and floor joint, with no effective interior drainage system in place to manage it.
Solution
After a detailed assessment, our System Design Specialist recommended a full interior waterproofing system designed to capture, control, and safely discharge water away from the home.
We installed the WaterGuard drainage system along the interior perimeter to intercept water before it reached the basement floor. This system channels water directly to the SuperSump pump system, which provides reliable, high-capacity water removal. The SuperSump includes a powerful cast iron pump, airtight sealed lid, and alarm system for added protection and peace of mind.
To ensure year-round performance, we added the IceGuard discharge protection system, which allows water to escape even if the exterior line becomes blocked by ice or debris during winter conditions.
Finally, a LawnScape outlet was installed at the discharge termination point. This outlet safely releases water away from the home while blending into the landscape and preventing debris or clogs from entering the system.
The result is a fully protected basement that is now dry, functional, and safeguarded against future water intrusion.
